Transpovia's private Miami airport transportation takes you from MIA straight to your South Beach hotel, a Brickell apartment, the cruise terminals at PortMiami or Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale Airport or the Keys at a price fixed when you book — tolls and fees included, no meter, no surge. Your driver tracks your flight, waits 45 minutes free and meets you curbside on the arrivals level. Sedan for two, SUV for the family or a 14-seat van for the cruise party.
Landing at Miami International Airport and heading to a South Beach hotel, an apartment in Brickell, a cruise ship at PortMiami or Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, or down to the Keys? Transpovia's private Miami airport transportation is a pre-booked car with a price fixed at booking, tolls and fees included, a driver who tracks your flight and waits curbside at your terminal, and a vehicle sized for your party — from a sedan for two to a 14-seat van. Below: real drive times, an honest comparison with flat-rate taxis, Uber, shared shuttles and the Metrorail, and exactly where your driver meets you at the North, Central and South terminals.
MIA sits 8 miles northwest of downtown, and almost every ride starts on the Dolphin Expressway (SR-836) or the Airport Expressway (SR-112) before joining I-95 or the causeways to Miami Beach. Off-peak the city is close; weekday rush hours (7:00–9:30 am and 4:00–7:30 pm), Friday evenings and cruise mornings on the Port Boulevard bridge can double the time. Your fixed price does not change either way.

MIA has a taxi flat-rate system, two rail lines, shared vans and every rideshare app, so the cheapest option is rarely the simplest. Here is how they compare after a real flight with real luggage:
Taxi (flat-rate zones) — from the stands outside baggage claim. Miami-Dade sets flat fares from MIA to South Beach (about $35) and PortMiami (about $27), plus tip; everywhere else is metered, so Fort Lauderdale or Aventura runs $70–100 and rises in traffic. Vans are limited and car seats are not supplied.
Uber and Lyft — pickup at the designated rideshare doors on the arrivals level. Typically $30–45 to South Beach off-peak, but prices surge when several flights land together, on cruise mornings and during events; a party of five with luggage needs an XL.
Shared shuttle vans — around $27–45 per person to Miami Beach, but you wait for the van to fill and stop at several hotels before yours. For two or more people a private car is usually cheaper.
Hotel shuttles — free from most airport-area hotels in Doral and Blue Lagoon, on a loop schedule that can mean a 20–40 minute wait. Almost no South Beach or Brickell hotel runs one.
Metrorail and Tri-Rail — the free MIA Mover takes 3 minutes to the Miami Intermodal Center; from there the Metrorail Orange Line reaches Brickell in about 15 minutes ($2.25) and Tri-Rail reaches Fort Lauderdale in about 45 minutes. No rail line goes to Miami Beach or PortMiami, so you finish by taxi.
Brightline — does not stop at MIA. The nearest station is MiamiCentral downtown, 8 miles away, for trains to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm and Orlando.
Pre-booked private car (Transpovia) — fixed price agreed when you book with tolls and fees included, driver tracking your flight and waiting curbside, 45 minutes of free waiting time, no stops, no surge, and one vehicle for the whole party and its luggage. See the full breakdown in our MIA to South Beach and MIA to PortMiami guides.
For a solo traveler with a carry-on going to South Beach, the $35 flat-rate taxi is hard to beat. For everyone else the numbers turn quickly: a family of four pays about the same for a taxi as for an SUV that is already waiting with the car seats fitted; a party of six needs two rideshares, or one van; a cruise passenger with a 4 pm sailing cannot risk a shared shuttle that waits to fill; and anyone flying into MIA to board a ship at Port Everglades, or staying in Fort Lauderdale, Boca or the Keys, is outside the flat-rate zones altogether. Late arrivals, international landings at the South Terminal and villa or Airbnb addresses are the other cases where a pre-booked car is simply the easier choice.
Miami International is one connected building with three terminals: the North Terminal (Concourse D, American Airlines and partners), the Central Terminal (Concourses E, F and G — most domestic carriers) and the South Terminal (Concourses H and J — Delta, JetBlue's international flights and most foreign airlines). Baggage claim and arrivals are on Level 1 in every terminal. Your booking confirmation states your terminal and door, and your driver contacts you as soon as your flight lands.
Curbside pickup (standard) — collect your bags on Level 1, walk out of the baggage-claim doors of your terminal and your driver meets you at the curb with the vehicle. Your driver's name and number are in the confirmation, and 45 minutes of waiting are included, so there is no rush if a bag is slow.
International arrivals — customs for the South Terminal (Concourse J) and North Terminal (Concourse D) international flights exits on Level 1; your driver tracks the landing and waits through the queue.
Connecting from another terminal? The Skytrain links the North Terminal concourses, and the Central and South terminals are a walk on Level 2; tell us your arriving airline and we set the pickup door for you.
Returning to MIA — we pick up at your hotel lobby, apartment or cruise terminal at the time you choose, and we time cruise pickups for the disembarkation window so you are not paying for an hour of waiting at the port.
PortMiami is the busiest cruise port in the world and only 15–25 minutes from MIA, which is why most cruise lines' own transfers are shared coaches. A private car takes you to the door of your specific terminal — Terminal A (Royal Caribbean), B (Norwegian), D and E (Carnival), F (MSC), G (Virgin Voyages) and the others — with the driver loading the luggage you will hand to the porters. Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale is 40–50 minutes away and serves Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and Royal Caribbean ships; our Port Everglades transfer guide covers it, and the return on disembarkation day to either airport works the same way. Arriving into Fort Lauderdale but sailing from Miami? See the Fort Lauderdale Airport transfers page for the reverse route.
The price you see in the booking form is agreed before you travel and includes all tolls on SR-836, SR-112 and I-95, airport and port fees, flight tracking, 45 minutes of waiting time, luggage handling and a licensed, insured vehicle. It does not change with traffic, the time of day or how busy the airport is. Child and booster seats are available on request — tell us the ages of the children when you book so the seats are fitted before pickup, as Florida law requires a car seat for children under six. If a flight is delayed, your driver adjusts to the new arrival time; if it is cancelled, contact us through chat or WhatsApp and we will rebook or refund the ride.
The same fixed price applies on the way back, and for many travelers the return is the more useful booking: a set pickup time at the hotel on check-out morning instead of a rideshare estimate, or a driver at the cruise terminal when your ship clears customs. Popular one-way trips are MIA to Fort Lauderdale Airport for a flight home from the other airport, Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale Airport from Miami Beach, and the long drives to Key West, Naples and Orlando, where a fixed price beats a rental-car day and a return leg. First time in South Florida? Our Miami travel tips cover tolls, beach neighborhoods and the best times to cross the causeways.
Sedan — up to 3 passengers, 3 suitcases. Couples, solo travelers, business trips.
Executive sedan — up to 3 passengers, leather interior, water and phone chargers. Brickell and convention travel.
SUV — up to 5–6 passengers with beach gear and a stroller. The usual choice for families heading to Miami Beach.
Van (10 seats) — larger families and small groups; room for cruise luggage.
Van (14 seats) — multi-family cruise groups, wedding parties and sports teams, with a luggage trailer available on request.

MIA is about 12 miles from South Beach. Travel time is typically 20–35 minutes depending on traffic.
Enter your date and destination in the booking form to see the exact fixed price for your vehicle — it is agreed before you travel and includes tolls, fees, flight tracking and 45 minutes of waiting. For comparison, the taxi flat rate is about $35 to South Beach and $27 to PortMiami plus tip, and rideshare prices surge when flights land together.
Curbside on Level 1 (arrivals) outside the baggage-claim doors of your terminal — North (Concourse D), Central (E, F, G) or South (H, J). Your confirmation states the terminal and door, and the driver contacts you when your flight lands. With 45 minutes of waiting included, a slow bag is not a problem.
PortMiami is 8 miles from MIA — usually 15–25 minutes, 30–40 on cruise mornings when the Port Boulevard bridge is busy. We drop you at the door of your ship's terminal. For a 4 pm sailing, most passengers book a pickup for a flight landing before 1 pm; the return after disembarkation is timed to the window your cruise line gives you.
Yes, in both directions. MIA to Fort Lauderdale Airport or downtown Fort Lauderdale is about 25 miles and 35–45 minutes on I-95; Port Everglades is 40–50 minutes. From Fort Lauderdale Airport to PortMiami or Miami Beach, book on our Fort Lauderdale Airport page — the fixed price includes tolls either way.
For one person with a carry-on going to South Beach, the $35 flat-rate taxi is good value. For a family, a group with luggage, a cruise connection or any destination outside the flat-rate zones — Fort Lauderdale, Boca, the Keys — a pre-booked car is usually the same price or cheaper, with no surge, no waiting at the stand and child seats fitted in advance.
