Transpovia's private LAX airport transportation takes you from your terminal straight to a Disneyland hotel, Santa Monica, Hollywood, downtown, Orange County or the cruise terminals at a price fixed when you book — fees included, no meter, no surge. Your driver tracks your flight, waits 45 minutes free and meets you curbside on the arrivals level, so you skip the LAX-it lot, the shuttle line and the rideshare wait. Sedan for two, SUV for the family or a 14-seat van for the group.
Landing at Los Angeles International and heading to a Disneyland hotel, the beach at Santa Monica, a studio in Hollywood, a tower downtown, Orange County, or a cruise ship in San Pedro or Long Beach? Transpovia's private LAX airport transportation is a pre-booked car with a price fixed at booking, fees included, a driver who tracks your flight and waits curbside at your terminal, and a vehicle sized for your party — from a sedan for two to a 14-seat van. Below: real drive times, an honest comparison with the LAX-it lot, the FlyAway bus, the new Metro station and shared shuttles, and exactly where your driver meets you at Terminals 1–8 and Tom Bradley.
LAX sits on the coast in Westchester, 18 miles southwest of downtown, and almost every ride starts on the 405 or the 105. In Los Angeles the clock matters more than the map: the same trip to Hollywood takes 35 minutes at 11 am and 70 minutes at 5 pm, and Friday afternoons on the 405 are the worst window of the week. Your fixed price does not change either way.

LAX changed its rules in 2019: Uber, Lyft and taxis can no longer pick up at the terminal curb, which is why the question "how do I get out of LAX" has so many answers. Here is how they compare after a real flight with real luggage:
LAX-it lot (Uber, Lyft, taxi) — walk or take the green shuttle from your terminal to the lot east of Terminal 1, then queue for a car. Allow 20–45 minutes after baggage claim on a busy evening. Rideshare runs about $35–55 to downtown off-peak and surges when several flights land together; taxis charge a $50 flat rate to downtown and the meter everywhere else.
FlyAway bus — $12.75 one way from the lower-level FlyAway stops to Union Station (downtown) or Van Nuys. Cheap and reliable, but it goes to those two places only, and you still need a taxi or train from the station to your hotel.
Metro (C and K Lines) — the LAX/Metro Transit Center, opened in 2025, connects the terminals by free shuttle to the C Line and K Line. $1.75 to Crenshaw, Inglewood or Norwalk, with a change of trains for downtown; no direct rail to Santa Monica, Hollywood or Disneyland.
Shared shuttle vans — around $20–40 per person to Anaheim or Hollywood, but you wait for the van to fill and stop at other hotels before yours; for two or more people a private car is usually cheaper.
Hotel shuttles — free from most hotels on Century Boulevard and in El Segundo, on a loop schedule from the lower-level hotel-shuttle stops. Almost no Santa Monica, Hollywood or Anaheim hotel runs one from LAX.
Rental car — the rental shuttles leave from the lower level for lots a mile away; add 30–45 minutes, plus $30–60 a night for hotel parking in Santa Monica or Anaheim.
Pre-booked private car (Transpovia) — pre-arranged cars are still allowed at the terminal curb, so your driver meets you on the arrivals level, loads the bags and leaves. Fixed price agreed when you book with fees included, flight tracking, 45 minutes of free waiting, no stops, no surge, and one vehicle for the whole party. See the full breakdowns in our LAX to Disneyland and LAX to downtown guides.
For a solo traveler with a carry-on going downtown, the FlyAway is hard to beat on price. For everyone else the numbers turn quickly: a family of four pays about the same for a rideshare XL from the LAX-it lot as for an SUV already waiting at the curb with the car seats fitted; a party of six needs two rideshares, or one van; a cruise passenger with a 4 pm sailing cannot risk a shared shuttle that waits to fill; and anyone heading to Disneyland, Orange County, Palm Springs or Santa Barbara is beyond every bus and train. Late arrivals, international landings at Tom Bradley and vacation-rental addresses are the other cases where a pre-booked car is simply the easier choice.
LAX is a horseshoe of nine terminals around a central loop: Terminals 1–3 on the north side, Tom Bradley International (TBIT) at the west end, and Terminals 4–8 on the south side. Arrivals and baggage claim are on the lower level of every terminal, with departures above. Your booking confirmation states your terminal and the pickup point, and your driver contacts you as soon as your flight lands.
Curbside pickup (standard) — collect your bags on the lower (arrivals) level, walk out of the baggage-claim doors of your terminal and your driver meets you at the curb with the vehicle. Your driver's name and number are in the confirmation, and 45 minutes of waiting are included, so there is no rush if a bag is slow.
Tom Bradley (TBIT) international arrivals — customs exits on the lower level at the west end of the horseshoe; your driver tracks the landing and waits through the queue. Some international flights arrive at Terminals 2, 4 or 5 instead — tell us your airline and we set the terminal for you.
Connecting between terminals? Terminals 4–8 and TBIT are linked airside; the rest are a short walk or a free LAX Shuttle ride on the lower level.
Returning to LAX — we pick up at your hotel, vacation rental or cruise terminal at the time you choose and drop you on the upper (departures) level of your terminal. Allow extra time on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings, when the 405 and the terminal loop are slowest.
Most LAX arrivals are not staying in Los Angeles at all. Disneyland and the Anaheim hotels are 33 miles south on the 105 and the 5 — 45–65 minutes off-peak — and since the Disneyland Resort Express coach stopped running, the choice is a shared shuttle with stops, a rideshare from the LAX-it lot or a pre-booked car at the curb. Our LAX to Disneyland transfer guide covers it in detail, and our Los Angeles to Anaheim guide handles pickups from LA hotels and Burbank. John Wayne Airport is closer to the parks, so a one-way LAX-to-SNA transfer is a common choice for open-jaw trips. Cruise passengers sail from the World Cruise Center in San Pedro (Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian) or the Long Beach terminal next to the Queen Mary (Carnival); both are 30–50 minutes from LAX, and we time return pickups for the disembarkation window so you are not paying for an hour at the port.
The price you see in the booking form is agreed before you travel and includes airport fees, flight tracking, 45 minutes of waiting time, luggage handling and a licensed, insured vehicle. It does not change with traffic, the time of day or how busy the terminal loop is. Child and booster seats are available on request — tell us the ages of the children when you book so the seats are fitted before pickup, as California law requires a car seat or booster for children under eight and rear-facing seats for children under two. If a flight is delayed, your driver adjusts to the new arrival time; if it is cancelled, contact us through chat or WhatsApp and we will rebook or refund the ride.
The same fixed price applies on the way back, and for many travelers the return is the more useful booking: a set pickup time at the hotel on check-out morning instead of a rideshare estimate, or a driver at the cruise terminal when your ship clears customs. Popular one-way trips are LAX to John Wayne or Burbank for a flight home from a smaller airport, and the long drives to San Diego, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara and Las Vegas, where a fixed price beats a rental-car day and a return leg; flying on to Nevada instead? See our Las Vegas Airport transfers page for the pickup there. First time in Southern California? Our Los Angeles travel tips cover freeways, beach neighborhoods and the best times to cross the city.
Sedan — up to 3 passengers, 3 suitcases. Couples, solo travelers, business trips.
Executive sedan — up to 3 passengers, leather interior, water and phone chargers. Century City and convention travel.
SUV — up to 5–6 passengers with park bags and a stroller. The usual choice for families heading to Disneyland.
Van (10 seats) — larger families and small groups; room for cruise luggage.
Van (14 seats) — multi-family groups, wedding parties and sports teams, with a luggage trailer available on request.

For comparison, the taxi flat rate to downtown is $50 plus tip, rideshare from the LAX-it lot runs $35–55 off-peak and surges, and shared shuttles charge per person with stops.
No. The LAX-it lot is for Uber, Lyft and taxis; pre-arranged private cars are allowed at the terminal curb. Collect your bags on the lower (arrivals) level, walk out of the baggage-claim doors and your driver meets you at the curb — Terminals 1–8 or Tom Bradley. Your confirmation states the exact point, and the driver contacts you when your flight lands.
About 33 miles (53 km) via the 105 and the 5. The drive takes 45–65 minutes off-peak and up to 90 minutes on weekday afternoons. Your fixed price does not change if traffic is slow.
Only at the LAX-it lot east of Terminal 1, reached on foot or by the green shuttle. Expect 20–45 minutes after baggage claim on a busy evening, plus surge pricing when flights land together. A pre-booked car avoids the lot entirely.
For one person going to Union Station or Van Nuys with a carry-on, the $12.75 FlyAway is good value. For a family, a group with luggage, or any hotel that is not next to those two stops, a pre-booked car is usually the same price per trip or cheaper, door to door, with no second leg by taxi or train.
Yes. LAX to John Wayne (SNA) is about 40 miles and 45–75 minutes on the 405; LAX to Hollywood Burbank (BUR) is 25 miles and 35–60 minutes. Both are common one-way bookings for open-jaw trips, and the fixed price includes the airport fees at both ends.
